Stability capacity expanded
Ergopharm has commissioned additional walk-in stability chambers at its Advanced Research Centre in Vadodara, extending the storage envelope so that studies can now be run across every ICH climatic zone, from temperate Zone I through hot-and-humid Zone IVb.
The expansion adds chamber capacity across the full set of ICH Q1A(R2) storage conditions. Long-term studies run at 25 °C/60% RH, intermediate studies at 30 °C/65% RH, and accelerated studies at 40 °C/75% RH, with the new Zone IVb capability providing the elevated-humidity condition (30 °C/75% RH) required to support the hottest and most humid climatic zone. Because Ergopharm's products are manufactured for export, the ability to hold long-term and accelerated conditions in parallel across all four zones is central to building the stability datasets that underpin registration dossiers.

Each chamber is qualified under the site's IQ/OQ/PQ programme, with mapping studies confirming temperature and humidity uniformity throughout the working volume before any samples are loaded. Continuous monitoring, alarm handling and excursion management follow the site's quality system, and all readings are captured in line with ALCOA+ data-integrity principles. In practice this means every stability data point carries an attributable, unbroken record from placement through to the results that feed a Certificate of Analysis or a Product Quality Review.
In operational terms, the additional capacity shortens the queue for chamber space and lets several products sit on study concurrently without competing for conditions. For sterile injectables and oral solids alike, this supports the timely generation of shelf-life and in-use data, and it reduces the risk of study scheduling becoming a bottleneck on batch release and dossier readiness.
The investment forms part of Ergopharm's continued strengthening of its quality infrastructure and of the pharmaceutical quality system described in ICH Q10, under which stability outcomes feed process-performance and product-quality monitoring, change management and management review.
