Founding technical team recruited
Ergopharm has completed recruitment of its founding technical team, bringing analytical chemists, microbiologists, engineers and quality staff to Vadodara ahead of construction of the first manufacturing block.
A pharmaceutical company is a set of capabilities held by people, not a set of buildings. Recruiting the technical team before the plant reverses the usual order deliberately: the people who will run the facility take part in specifying it, and the specification is better for having been written by those who must live with it.
“Independence of the quality unit costs nothing to design in and a great deal to add later.”
The team is organised from the outset into functions that stay independent of each other — production, quality control and quality assurance — with the reporting lines that keep release decisions separate from output pressure. That separation is easy to build into a company of thirty people and painful to retrofit into one of three hundred.
Training records begin with the first hire, and every subsequent qualification, retraining and competency assessment is added to the same file.
