Ampoule range extended to four esters

Ergopharm has extended its injectable range to four ester presentations, each added to the register only after completing process validation and the required stability programme.

Extending a range of esters is less straightforward than it appears. Each ester differs in solubility, viscosity in the oil carrier and degradation behaviour, which means each needs its own analytical method work, its own filtration and filling parameters, and its own stability data — not an extrapolation from the one before it.

Similar is not the same. Every ester earns its own data.

Every addition therefore runs the full sequence: formulation, method validation, engineering and validation batches, stability entry, and a released specification before the monograph is published. Nothing enters the register on the basis that a similar product already exists in it.

Each new monograph carries the same pack specification discipline as the rest of the register, so distributors handling a mixed order see one documentation format.
